Individual Instruction

▸ 16 Lessons per Semester

Our music instruction follows a traditional semester structure with 16 weekly lessons per semester. This format allows students to develop consistent practice habits, build meaningful skills, and achieve measurable progress toward their musical goals.

Semester Dates:

  • Fall/Winter Program: Starts in September and ends in late January
  • Winter/Spring Program: Starts in late January and ends in mid-June

Private instruction is available in-person at our Bronx location or online via video call. Scheduling is flexible—Saturdays are our primary teaching day, but other times can be arranged. Please contact us during registration to discuss availability.

We observe the same holidays and school closings as local public schools in our area. Registration is open on a rolling basis, and tuition will be prorated for students enrolling after the semester has begun.

All prices are per semester (16 lessons). Tuition is due at the start of each semester.

New Family Registration Fee

One-time fee for new enrollments

This fee covers administrative setup, learning materials package, and access to online student resources.

Materials/Recital Fee

Per student, per semester (optional)

Includes administrative costs and items necessary for the course (e.g., music notebook, method books).

Payment Options

Direct Payment

Parents and guardians may pay tuition directly via Zelle, Venmo, check, or cash. A detailed receipt will be provided for reimbursement through OPWDD self-direction programs or other funding sources.

OPWDD Self-Direction Payment

For families utilizing OPWDD self-direction funding, we work directly with approved Fiscal Intermediaries. Please contact us to discuss payment arrangements.

Refund Policy

⚠️

IMPORTANT: All semester tuition is non-refundable once the semester begins.

By enrolling in a semester program, families commit to the full 16-lesson semester. We hold your student's weekly time slot for the entire semester, which prevents us from offering that spot to other students.

Withdrawal & Refunds

All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to info@mylesmusicacademy.com.

Refund Schedule:
  • Before semester start date: Full refund minus $50 administrative processing fee
  • After semester begins: No refunds

Extenuating Circumstances

We understand that unexpected situations arise. Requests for refunds due to medical emergencies (with doctor's documentation) or family relocation (50+ miles) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss your situation.

Make-Up Lesson Policy

Students who provide 24-hour advance notice of absence may schedule up to 2 make-up lessons per semester. Instructor-cancelled lessons will always be rescheduled or credited. No-shows without notice do not qualify for make-up lessons.

Semester Commitment

We encourage all families to carefully consider their schedule and commitment before enrolling. Our semester-based structure is designed to provide consistent, progressive instruction that leads to meaningful musical development.
